As you’ve probably noticed if you’ve read these posts before, I love getting ideas of what to wear from actual photos I’ve come across from favorite photographers and/or sites I frequent. Today, i’ll be talking about color. Personally, I LOVE COLORS! I haven’t always loved color but now…I-LOVE-IT!!!
Here’s a few tips for those of you trying to figure out what to wear to your family’s photography shoot.
1. Think color! What colors look best on you? What colors best fit the season you’re in?
If you don’t have a clue, do what I do, research it on the internet or look at magazines for inspiration . Get inspired! I love looking at family photographers and checking out their photos for ideas on what to their clients are wearing. This way, I can get some great ideas on a color scheme or color combination I may not have thought of on my own.
For example, I love the colors I found here from Amelia Lyon and Blue Lilly Photography…
2. Think color coordination…not only matching.
These photos are great examples of how you can coordinate colors without exactly matching.
Also, combine patterns with coordinating solids colors to match. Not everyone has to be wearing the same solid colored tops or the same exact color patterns.
3. Think POP! What I mean by that is colors should pop! No…not literally break open but what I mean is color can and should stand out. A great way to do this is to have only one or two people in that “pop” color. You definitely don’t want to overdo color but as you’ll see in the photos below, that “pop” makes a difference.
And last, but not least, if you’re going to GO for COLOR…I say GO FOR IT!!!
4. Think BOLD, COLORFUL & FUN!!!!
I shared these photos (by Candice Stringham) before in a previous what to wear post…I just LOVE the colors in this. I love how not everyone is matching but they’ve tied the colors in with one person or another.
I found several more examples of these bold, great colors.
